Frequently asked questions about Private patient transport services
Having worked in the patient transport sector for a number of years, we have noticed that there are a few common questions that our team often gets asked, by both the organisations and individuals we support, as well as their family and/or carers.
In this blog, we have picked out a handful of these questions to answer, to help provide you with the information you may need to make the decision about using our services, and to help clarify any concerns you may have.
What can I expect from EMA Patient Transport?
We strive to and promise to provide a service that is comfortable and safe for all patients, no matter their unique requirements.
With an experienced, compassionate, and caring team, we work to ensure that a patient feels respected during their time with us, providing the most positive experience for them.
Maintaining quality communication is also very important to us. From your initial booking to the moment your patient/family member arrives at their final destination, you will be updated and informed every step of the way.
What areas do you cover?
Based in Dorset, our team provides a range of patient transport services to individuals and organisations across the South West of England, but we are also proud to operate across the UK.
We are able to travel to areas much further afield to wherever patients require support.
What is the difference between your Secure, NEPTS and Private services?
Through our Secure Transport service, our team is able to work with a broad section of mental health patients and can cater to a varied range of needs. We assist with numerous types of journeys by providing a safe environment for travel, including transfers between police custody suites and hospitals and transfer of patients detained under the mental health act 1983.
Our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) is aimed at patients who, for medical reasons, cannot travel by public transport or any other means to a variety of appointments. These include, but are not limited to: outpatient appointments, day care, planned admissions and discharges, inter-hospital transfers and special occasions that patients can not get to, like Weddings, Funerals and even special places to visit one last time.
Finally, our Private Ambulance Service provides individuals with a convenient and private transport experience, allowing them to have a stress-free and comfortable journey in a state-of-the-art ambulance. The service is person-centred, and all bookings are tailored to the individual, so they will be surrounded by everything they may need.
How do I know which service is right for me, my patient, or my family member?
