EMA Patient Transport is a leading provider of private ambulance services, offering a comprehensive range of private patient transport solutions. This includes conveying patients detained under the mental health act, in our secure transport mental health ambulances. We pride ourselves on our commitment to delivering personalised care, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of each patient we serve.

The Role of an Ambulance Crew Member

As an Ambulance Crew Member, you will work under the supervision of a senior team member or manager, actively participating in the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of care. Your role will involve managing risk and promoting the wellbeing of each patient.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the principles of advocacy
  • Safeguarding the wellbeing of each patient
  • Following instructions from qualified nurses and the management team
  • Recording all relevant information as required
  • Communicating effectively with the Registered Manager, HR & Compliance Manager, and peers
  • Participating in general and enhanced patient observations as required
  • Reporting all environmental risks identified
  • Escorting patients and driving the EMA Vehicle (where criteria is met)
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient and company information

Training and Development

At EMA, we believe in continuous learning and development. All new hires complete a specialist PMVA training course and break away. Additionally, all staff attend mandatory training on an annual basis, including security and risk-specific training.
